Aqua Tulip Thank You Card

I watched the Gina K's Kraft Magic with Prismacolor Pencils and Kraft Cardstock video yesterday and was inspired to make one of these cards. Her video included lots of cool tips and tricks that I used to make this card. The first thing I noticed about her card was how the pencil colors popped against the white embossing powder and the kraft cardstock. For my card, I used a tulip stamp from Hero Arts along with Prismacolor Pencils. I had to use regular white embossing powder because I didn't have fine detail embossing powder in my stash. I can see how the fine detail embossing powder would have worked better on the fine lines of the stamp. I will definitely need to purchase some of that powder!

I used the Tim Holtz Intertwine 3-D Texture Fades Embossing Folder to add some texture and dimension to my card. This embossing folder is so pretty! It turned plain kraft cardstock into a textured basket weave background. Wow! To give it a whitewashed look, I rubbed white pigment ink onto the basket weave background using the ink pad (no special tools needed!), drying it a bit with a heat gun. Use a dry paper towel to blend any ink that is still wet.

A VersaMark stamp pad and Ranger white embossing powder were used to create the tulip image. I will definitely use fine detail embossing powder the next time I use this technique. The tulips were colored using only 4 colors of Prismacolor pencils. I cut 3 thanks sentiments out of white cardstock using a Lawn Fawn Scripty Sentiment die to complete the card. These 3 layers were glued together to create a more chunky sentiment.

I'm really happy with how this card turned out. I will definitely be using this technique again on other cards. Thank you, Gina K!
