Delftware Inspired Christmas Cards

Freddie Sleijpen's series of beautiful Delftware cards inspired me to try making them. Thank you, Freddie for taking the time to answer a few of my questions regarding the creation of your cards! I really appreciate it! The cobalt blue color is what really attracted me to her series of cards. It's such a beautiful color. For my cards, I used the Blueprint Christmas Stamp Set from Tim Holtz. It's a super quick and easy way to make a card. I will definitely make more cards using this style. I feel a stamp shopping spree in my future! LOL

The same steps were used to make all 4 cards. Use the largest die from the Tim Holtz Stacked Deckle die set to cut a rectangle out of cardstock. I used Neenah Classic Crest Smooth Solar White 80 lb paper.

The paper in the photo is mixed media paper, but I was having a difficult time getting a decent background using that paper. I decided to go with the Neenah paper.

Cut a 4-1/4 x 5-1/2" rectangle from cobalt blue cardstock. I used Bazzill Whirlypop.

Make an A2 size card base using heavy white cardstock.

The background was created by using pumice stone Distress Oxide ink and a Tim Holtz craze stamp. I didn't add a lot of ink to the stamp because I wanted the background to be  subtle.

Stamp the snowman on top of the background using cobalt Ranger Archival Ink.

Next, ink the edges of the card using walnut stain Distress Ink.

Time to finish the card! Attach the blue cardstock to the front of the card base.

I used adhesive foam tape to attach the stamped image to the blue cardstock because I wanted a little bit of dimension.

The card is complete! This is a quick and easy way to make cards. I hope you enjoyed seeing how I made these cards.
