Let it Snow Card - Snowman 3

This is my third snowman card using the Hello Bluebird Winter Woods Overlay Die set. I'm making multiples of these cards to send out for Christmas. I changed the design slightly and used different papers on each of the snowman cards so I wouldn't get bored making the same card over and over. The slight changes were enough to keep me from losing interest in making my cards. There are links to the other cards at the end of this post.

Let it Snow Card - Snowman 2

This is my second snowman card using the Hello Bluebird Winter Woods Overlay Die set. For this card I opted for winter papers instead of Christmas papers. The Echo Park Warm & Cozy papers were perfect for this winter-themed Christmas card. I love the softer color palette. I wanted the snowman to hold a tiny gift so I dug around in my stash until I found the perfect die. The Home for the Holidays die set from Tim Holtz has a gift box die small enough to fit the proportions of the snowman. I topped the card with a bunch of pine cones and holly and berries to complete the card.

Let it Snow Card - Gnome 1

This is my third card using the Hello Bluebird Winter Woods Overlay Die set. I decided to change things up this time and use a gnome die instead of the snowman die that comes with the set. For this card I used Simple Stories Very Merry papers that I had in my stash. I love the black, red and green and white color palette. I scattered a few mushrooms on the snowbank to go with the gnome theme of this card. The tiny mushroom dies from the Gnome Place Like Home die set from My Favorite Things were used to make the tiny mushrooms. I topped the card with two clusters of holly and berries.

Let it Snow Card - Snowman 1

I enjoy creating cards with patterned papers and dies because they don't require tedious coloring and shading. This card has only 2 stamped images. One is on the front of the card and the other is the sentiment inside the card. That's definitely a bonus if you need to make multiples of the same card to send out for Christmas! I plan on making several of these cards. I'm also making a second version of this card using a different paper collection.

Christmas Ornaments

My daughter wants to give something handmade to her close group of friends this Christmas. She asked each of them to name their favorite animal. I made an ornament for them based on their responses. I really hope they like them! I'll make one for my daughter as well. I have the perfect die set to use for her ornament! Shhh....it's a secret.

These ornaments were s0 much fun to make. I used dies from my collection as well as papers from my stash. The plastic dome ornaments are very inexpensive and can be found at most craft stores during the holiday season.

Christmas Wish Scrapbook Layout

I created this layout using the Very Merry Collection from Simple Stories. The floral papers in this collection are beautiful. I love how the red and green pops against the black background. I decided to scrap this black and white photo because I love how it looks with the colors in the collection. You'll notice from my other scrapbook layouts that I usually scrap only 1 photo per page. The photos I choose to scrap are my favorite photos. I decided a long time ago that I wouldn't scrap every photo. It was just too overwhelming to attempt to scrap all of them. By choosing only a few favorites I feel less stress and I can enjoy taking my time creating each layout!

Winter Scrapbook Layout - Flurries

I really love Simple Stories scrapbook papers and embellishments. The Freezin' Season Collection is adorable and very girly. The perfect collection to match my daughter's winter photos. It goes perfectly with her pink snowsuit! The little houses, trees and mountains are whimsical and cute. I used lots of adhesive foam dots to create dimension and machine stitching to add some additional texture to the layout. I added a lot of details to this page, but the adorable photo of my daughter is still the focal point of the layout. My daughter is now 20 and a junior in college. I'd say I'm a tad behind on my scrapbooking. I know a lot of you can relate!

Christmas Wooden Block - Winter Deer

This is the second wooden block I've made using lots of Tim Holtz products and techniques. The Tim Holtz pine cone paper was the starting point for my project. I knew I had to use it because it's absolutely gorgeous! Neutral colors and pops of gold were also used to create this wintry Christmas scene. I leave this piece out during the winter months because it doesn't look too Christmasy (is that a word?). I love the tiny Tim Holtz deer and trees that are adorned with gold baubles. The tiny packages wrapped in Tim Holtz papers complete the scene on top of the block. Tim Holtz dies were used to create the winter scene on the front of the block.
