Sloth Christmas Card

My daughter loves a lot of things and sloths are one of those things. When I saw this sloth die set from Katelyn Lizardi for Sizzix I knew I had to have it for my daughter's Christmas card. Ideas were already forming in my head even before I put the die set in my cart! I was so excited when the sloth arrived in the mail. I couldn't wait to get started on her card!

Keep reading if you'd like to learn more about this card and the supplies I used to create it!

I knew I wanted to use the Cozy and Bright paper collection from Pebbles on this card because the colors are so bright and vivid. I grabbed that from my stash of papers along with the Fresh Baked 1 die set from Tim Holtz. The sloth needed a Santa hat and the hat from this die set was the perfect size to fit the sloth. Everything was starting to come together! The sloth set comes with a branch for him to hang from, but I wanted it to be more festive. I made some greenery using the Large Funky Festive die set from Tim Holtz and several shades of green cardstock to attach to the branch. The Holly Berries die set from My Favorite Things was used to make the holly & berries.

The background papers are all from the Pebbles Cozy and Bright paper collection. I cut a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of the green patterned paper and attached it to an A2 sized card base that I cut from heavy white cardstock. The poinsettia print paper was cut using the largest die from the My Favorite Things Wonky Stitched Rectangle Stack. The second largest die from that set was used to cut the Christmas words paper. It was also attached to the card base using adhesive foam tape.

The greenery was arranged and glued to the branch before it was attached to the card. I then placed the sloth's paws on the branch and I glued him in place. I used adhesive foam dots to attach him to the card. Once he was in place, I added the holly and berries to the branch using adhesive foam dots. The final touch was to add red, pink and white Baker's twine to the side of the card.

I can't wait for my daughter to open this card! I think she's going to love it! Who wouldn't love a sloth wearing a Santa hat?
