Cat Lady Birthday Card

DCWV Playful Pets Paper

I made this birthday card for one of my cat lady friends using only a few supplies from my stash. The Momenta Cat Lady stamp set and Playful Pets Mat Stack from DCWV that were used to make this card are absolutely adorable! The stack contains cat, dog, bunny and goldfish themed papers. I picked up both the stamp set and the mat stack from Tuesday Morning a few months ago. Who doesn't love a good Tuesday Morning find? This card is fairly simple because I wanted the focal point of the card to be those cute cat papers and the cat lady stamp.

If you'd like to make this card, keep reading for the instructions, as well as a full list of the supplies I used to create the card.

Let's Make This Card!

Lawn Fawn Inside Out Heart Dies

The first step is to cut a piece of white cardstock into a  4-1/4" x 5-1/2" rectangle. I used a Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables die to cut the rectangle. This will be the background of the card. Next, die cut 2 hearts out of the background rectangle. Use the photo as a guide for the placement of the hearts. I used the 2 smallest dies from the Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Heart Stackables die set. You can use any heart punches or dies, but I like how these dies leave a stitched border around the cut out hearts.

Glue the background to a A2 white card.

My Favorite Things Rectangle Scallop Edge Frame Die

Cut a frame for the card. I used the orange and white check paper from the DCWV Playful Pets Mat Stack along with a My Favorite Things Stitch Rectangle Scallop Edge Frame die to cut the frame.

Next, glue the frame to the background.

Next, use the same heart dies to cut hearts from cat and paw print papers that can be found in the DCWV Playful Pets Mat Stack. These 2 hearts will fit inside the hearts that were cut into the white background.

Glue the cat and paw print hearts inside the openings that were made by the outside in stitched heart dies.

Cat Lady Stamp

Stamp "cat lady" on the card using Memento Tuxedo black ink.

Happy Birthday Stamp

The final step is to stamp "Happy Birthday" on a separate piece of white cardstock. I used my computer to type the sentiment because I wanted to use a simple typewriter font. Cut the sentiment into a strip and cut the right side of the strip on an angle. Use adhesive foam dots to attach it to the top left corner of the card. You are done! I hope you enjoyed making this cat lady birthday card!
